How To Apply For A Student's Pass  
  All international students are required to hold a valid Pass issued by the Immigration and Checkpoint Authority (ICA) for their studies at NTU.  
     
On-line Application (Form 16)  
  The Application for Student's Pass has to be submitted on-line using Form 16. This can be done by logging into the    Student's    Pass    On-Line    Application    and
Registration    (SOLAR)    at the ICA     website: http://www.ica.gov.sg/    under
E-Services. The SOLAR application number and other details that you need to log into the SOLAR system will be sent to you.

If you need a visa to enter Singapore, you are required to submit the electronic Form 16 prior to your departure for Singapore. Upon successful application, you would receive the In-Principle Approval Letter for Student's Pass cum the single-journey entry visa for your entry to Singapore.

If you do not need a visa to enter Singapore, on arrival in Singapore, you are usually given a Social Visit Pass of about 2 weeks.  You may submit the electronic Form 16 either prior to or after your arrival in Singapore.  Upon successful application, you would need to collect the In-principle approval letter from the Student Affairs Office (SAO) before you complete the formalities for the issuance of a Student's Pass.
 
     
The following documents are required for the issuance of a Student's Pass  
 
Passport with a valid Social Visit Pass or a Student's Pass that was issued to you while you were studying at your former institution
Disembarkation / Embarkation Form
Medical Report (MC2)
Duly signed copy of Form 16 printed from SOLAR
One recent passport-size photograph
In-principle approval (IPA) letter for Student's Pass cum single-journey visa for your entry to Singapore, if you are from a visa-required country.   If you are from a non-visa-required country, please obtain the approval letter from the Student Affairs Office.
Letter from either Ministry of Education of Singapore or the Office of Admissions, NTU confirming scholarship status and waiver of Student's Pass fee,
 
     

Where and when to complete the formalities for the issuance of a Student's Pass

 
  You may apply for the Student's Pass with the above documents either at SAO, NTU or at ICA after you have completed the on-line matriculation procedure.  The addresses are as follows:

If you choose to submit through SAO, please complete the formalities for the issuance of a Student's Pass 7 days before your Social Visit Pass or existing Student's Pass expires.  The collection of Passport, Student's Pass and Disembarkation & Embarkation Card will be about 2 week from the date of submission.

If you choose to submit personally at ICA, please remember to collect the In-principle Approval letter for application of Student's Pass from SAO before going to ICA.  You may collect your Passport, Student's Pass and Disembarkation & Embarkation Card in 1 – 3 days time after submission.  You must complete the formalities before your Social Visit Pass or existing Student's Pass expires.
 
     
Fee for Student's Pass  
  The fee for the Student's Pass is $40.00 per academic year.  Student will have to pay the fee for the whole duration of their course.  This means that for a 3-year course, students will have to pay S$120.00 while for a 4-year course, students will pay $160.00.  Visa fee is $20/-, if required.  Payment of the fee must be made through NETs using ATM Card.

International students who discontinue their studies at the University must report to the Immigration and Checkpoint Authority with their passport, Student's Pass and Disembarkation & Embarkation Card for cancellation within 7 days of the cessation of studies.
