Professor M M Pant is evangelizing and implementing through appropriate partnerships and networking, educational structures and models appropriate to the post-Internet world. His mission is to harness current and emerging technologies to bring together learners and providers of learning to create a superior learning experience.
He does this by building upon more than three decades of experience in teaching a variety of subjects, through different modes (face-to-face, distance learning, video conferencing and Internet-based e-learning) under several Institutional frameworks Director Computing, Pro-Vice-Chancellor IGNOU; faculty at Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, University of Western Ontario, London, Canada; MLN Engineering College, Allahabad and guest speaker at a number of institutions, seminars, conferences and workshops. |

Rev Dr Francis M Peter S J is currently the Secretary and Correspondent of Loyola College, Chennai. He is also Reader in the Department of English and Director of ACE - Loyola (Academy for Cumulative Excellence) an institute that trains people in Effective English Communication, TOEFL, GRE, GMAT, XAT, BEC, IELTS, NET/SLET etc.
With an M A in English Language and Literature from Madras University and PGDTE from CIEFL, Hyderabad, Rev Dr Francis also has a B Ed from Madurai Kamaraj University and an additional M A in ELT from Ealing College, London where he was sent on a British Council scholarship. He completed his PhD from Bharathidasan University, Trichy.
Rev Dr Francis was the former Principal of St Xavier's College, Palayamkottai and has held many other key administrative positions during his 22 years in tertiary education. He has nine books and a number of papers to his credit and has conducted seminars and workshops all over the country and abroad. He is an accredited overseas examiner and trainer for Cambridge University's exams. His specialisation of late is in training middle level managers in corporate houses and conducting Teacher Development workshops. |

Professor. V.N. Rajasekharan Pillai is the Director of the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). He has been the Vice-Chancellor of the Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam.
He has held post-doctoral and visiting research positions in the Universities of Tubingen, Mainz and Lausanne. He is leading an internationally renowned research group in the area of biopolymers, particularly peptides. He has published extensively in this area and has guided the doctoral research of a large number of students who occupy leading positions in academia, R&D, and industry in India and abroad. His research publications have received over 1500 citations during the last 10 years.
Prof. Pillai is an elected Fellow of the Indian Academy of Sciences and an Honorary Senior Fellow of the Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research, Bangalore. Recipient of Materials Research Society of India Lecture Award (1997) and Swadeshishastra Puraskar (1998). Under his leadership NAAC has formulated an action plan for quality evaluation and quality upgradation for the higher education institutions in the country which has been accepted and is being implemented by all the State Governments. |

Dr Murugesan Ponnavaikko graduated in Electrical Engineering from Guindy Engineering College in 1969 and obtained his MSc (Engineering) in Power Systems from the same institution in 1972. He received his PhD degree in Optimal Distribution System Planning from I I T (Delhi) in 1983. He has specialized in Operation Research and has contributed original methods for Distribution System Optimisation.
After holding several national and international assignments, Dr Ponnavaikko served as Professor and Head of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, initially at Mookambigai College of Engineering, Tiruchirappalli, then at Regional Engineering College, Tiruchirappalli, and later at the Crescent Engineering College, Chennai. In July 2000 he took over as the Director, at the level of Vice-Chancellor, of the Tamil Virtual University. He has published over 60 technical papers and worked on more than 30 research projects. He has been referred as a distinguished individual in the "Who's Who in Science and Engineering" publication, Marques' 4th Edition, USA, 1998-99 and received the IEEE Chapter Outstanding Engineer Award, 2000. |

Professor S Ramachander is the Director of Institute for Financial Management and Research (IFMR) and Academy for Management Excellence (ACME), Chennai.
A first class graduate from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, Professor Ramachander has over 35 years of experience as a manager, teacher and consultant. He has been with organizations such as Hindustan Lever Ltd, HTA, Pond's - UK & India, Shaw Wallace, SPIC and TI Cycles. Apart from being a visiting faculty at the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, he has taught in ACME programmes in collaboration with University of Michigan, USA, the Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, USA and the Advanced Management Programme of AIMA (1996 & 1999). He has contributed over 70 articles, papers, book reviews and case studies both in India and abroad. His most recent publication is "Beyond Competition" with Vikas Publishing. He has authored or co-authored papers at conferences held in Italy, USA and Scotland. Professor Ramachander is also a member of the Southern Area Local Board of the Reserve Bank of India and various prominent institutions. |

Mr. S. Ramakrishnan is currently Senior Director in the Ministry of Communications & Information Technology, Department of Information Technology and heads the Education & Research Division. He also has the additional charge of Director, National Center for Software Technology (Mumbai), a society under the Ministry of Communications & Information Technology. He is also looking after the development activities of Media Lab Asia, a non-profit company being set up jointly by Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Media Lab, USA and Ministry of Communications & Information Technology.
He is well known as the founder Project Director of ERNET, the premier Education and Research Network which brought Internet and associated research in computer networking into the country. He is an elected Governor of International Council for Computer Communication. He has been a member of IETE, IEEE and Internet Society. He has published and travelled widely. |
